This Labour Day, the team members of Kris An Charles Investments Company Limited undertook an initiative to paint the Mount Faith Basic School in Trench Town, Kingston. Africa Donaldson, Senior Manager, Marketing & Business Development, stated, “We hope that this will not only enhance the look of the school but also create a positive learning environment for the students there”.
Research has shown that the physical surroundings in which children learn can have a significant impact on their academic performance. By providing a fresh coat of paint and their labour, team members of Kris An Charles hope that improving the overall environment of the school will stimulate the students and motivate them to learn. The Company’s CEO, Mr. Trevor Hutchinson, noted that, “We are aware that a visually appealing learning environment can positively affect the morale and self-esteem of both students and teachers. We are therefore really happy to contribute to the Mount Faith Basic School in this way. Through this initiative, we are aiming to foster a sense of pride and ownership in the children in their own educational journey”.
